ICAR-CMFRI, Conducted an outreach programme at Government Vocational Higher Secondary School, Kadamakudy, as part of Vigilance Awareness Week
The ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI), Kochi, in collaboration with the NSS Unit (No. VHSENSS/EKM/G/907010) of Government Vocational Higher Secondary School (GVHSS), Kadamakudy, Ernakulam, Kerala organized an outreach programme on 20th November 2024 as part of the Vigilance Awareness Week celebrations. Centred around the national theme of the year “Culture of Integrity for Nation’s Prosperity,” the event aimed to promote transparency, accountability, and ethical practices among students and the community, aligning with national efforts to foster vigilance awareness. The event commenced with a warm welcome by Dr. Sindhu S., Principal of GVHSS, Kadamakudy, followed by an introduction to the programme by Dr. Reshma Gills, Scientist, FRAEED, ICAR-CMFRI, Kochi, who emphasized the significance of fostering integrity and watchfulness among children and youth. An expert talk on 'programme theme' was delivered by Dr. C. Ramachandran, Principal Scientist ICAR-CMFRI, Kochi, shedding light on truthfulness, ethical practices, transparency, and the role of citizens in ensuring a corruption-free society which ultimately leads to nation's prosperity. The event also featured engaging activities like poster-making and pencil-drawing competitions, which nurtured creative expression and active participation among students. The programme was assisted by ICAR-CMFRI team consisting of Shri. K. M. David, Shri. P. R. Abhilash and Shri. Akhildev.S The programme witnessed the wholehearted support and presence of the School's Parents Teachers Association (PTA). The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Leesha O.S., NSS Officer, GVHSS, Kadamakudy, acknowledging the efforts of all organizers, contributors and participants.
