World Ocean Day: ICAR-CMFRI conducts beach cleanup drive
To mark World Ocean Day 2024, a beach cleanup drive was conducted at Puthuvypu beach in Kochi on 7th June 2024 by the Marine Biodiversity and Environment Management Division of the ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI), Kochi.
With the onset of the south-west monsoon, the beach and inter tidal areas were in bad shape due to the accumulation of debris of all kinds. Through the collective action of the scientists, staff, research scholars and other personnel attached to the division, the beach was restored to its pristine state, radiating its original charm and vigour.
