Background :
Selected for ICAR Junior Research Fellow and acquired master’s degree in Mariculture (1992). Selected for Agricultural Research Service (Fishery Science) and joined ICAR-CMFRI in 1996 after successful completion of the Foundation Course in Agricultural Research Service (56 th FOCARS). Currently working in the Finfish Fisheries Division, ICAR-CMFRI. Research on the fishery and biology of major pelagic species of commercial importance such as oil sardine, mackerel, anchovies, cobia, tunas and billfishes and the deep-sea fishes were published. Participated as Chief Scientist in on-board fisheries exploratory surveys in an externally funded project of CMLRE, Ministry of Earth Sciences. Interests include marine fish population dynamics and stock assessment; exploratory surveys and application of fish biology research in development of fisheries management tools.
