Background :
I, completed my Bachelor of Fisheries Science from the College of Fisheries, Muthukur (Nellore district, A.P.); thereafter Master of Fisheries Sciences (M.F.Sc. in AAH) from the College of Fishery Science, WBUAFS, Kolkata and Ph.D. in Marine Biology (with specilization in parasitology) from the Karnatak University, Dharwad, Karnataka.I joined the Agricultural Research Service (ARS) in January 2016. I was posted to the Karwar Regional Station of ICAR-CMFRI, Karwar as a Scientist in the Marine Biotechnology Fish Nutrition and Health Division. Since then, I involved in the regular health monitoring of marine fishes that are farmed in cages. Pathogen profiling is also done from the wild fishes, nursery-reared, and cage-farmed fish. Studying the occurrence and prevalence of parasites in marine cage culture systems and from wild fishes is also done.
