Focus of Research :

  • Fishery Biology and Stock Assessment
  • Fish Taxonomy, Biodiversity and Conservation
  • Non- Conventional Fisheries Resources

Background :

I joined the Agricultural Research Service in 2016 after qualifying in the discipline of Fisheries Resource Management and began my career at the erstwhile Demersal Fisheries Division of CMFRI. Currently serving in the Finfish Fisheries Division, my research focuses on the taxonomy, biological studies, and stock assessment of major finfish resources along the Kerala coast, with a special emphasis on understanding the impacts of climate change on these fisheries. My work also extends to the reproductive biology, ecology, and spawning seasonality of critically endangered Guitarfishes. Additionally, I am engaged in assessing the fishery dynamics and utilization potential of non-conventional fisheries resources along the Indian coast, contributing to the sustainable management of emerging marine resources.
