Background :

After obtaining bachelors in Veterinary Science and Masters in Veterinary Pathology, served as Assistant Professor at the department of Veterinary Pathology, College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Kerala Agricultural University, from 1994 to 1997. Awarded Ph.D from Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar in the subject of veterinary Pathology for the thesis entitled Pathobiological studies of Vibrio alginolyticus biofilm on the defense functions and disease resistance in Giant tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon). Joined as Scientist at the Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (ICAR), Kochi. Worked at the Calicut Research Centre of CMFRI from 1997 to 2008, Vizhinjam Research Centre from 2008 to 2009 and Karwar Research Centre from 2009 to 2016. Presently working at CMFRI headquarters, Kochi, as Principal Scientist in the Marine Biotechnology, Fish Nutrition and Health Division. Current research thrust is on isolation, identification and characterization of marine fish pathogens, study of biosafety, pharmakokinetics, gut microbiome profiles, withdrawal period, and efficacy of aquaculture-drugs in marine fin fish. Leading the Dr.E.G.Silas Centre of Excellence and Innovations in Marine Fish Microbiome and Nutrigenomics
