Background :
Dr. Shinoj Parappurathu is a Principal Scientist in the Fishery Resources Assessment, Economics, and Extension (FRAEE) Division of ICAR-CMFRI, Kochi (since April 2015). Previously, he served as a Scientist at the National Institute of Agricultural Economics and Policy Research (ICAR-NIAP), New Delhi from 2007 to 2015. Graduated from Kerala Agricultural University, Thrissur, Kerala, Dr. Shinoj and holds Masters and Doctoral Degrees from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi in the field of Agricultural Economics. He had been a Norman Borlaug Fellow at the Department of Applied Economics and Management, Cornell University, New York (2010) and a Visiting Scholar at the Food and Agricultural Policy Research Institute (FAPRI), Iowa State University, Ames, United States (2010). Besides this, he has served as Consultant to the Food and Agricultural Organization, Rome (2020; 2012); Bay of Bengal Project-Inter Governmental Organization (BoBP-IGO), Chennai (2020); SAARC Agricultural Centre (SAC), Dhaka (2013), National Council for Applied Economic Research (NCAER), New Delhi (2012) and National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation (NAFED), New Delhi (2009).
